The Rapha Festive 500 is more than just a feat of athleticism—it’s a ritual, a global statement of devotion to cycling, even when the conditions are anything but inviting. Sonntag 5:45 Uhr – wir stehen am tiefsten Punkt vom Anstieg zum Schneeberg, in Bischofsgrün im Fichtelgebirge. Wir haben uns heute vorgenommen, ein Everesting zu fahren – 8848 Höhenmeter am Stück, an einem Berg, immer wieder hoch, solange bis du die Höhe vom Mount Everest erreicht hast. In unserem Fall war der Schneeberg das Ziel.
Ja, man kommt schon weit herum bei einer ALPI 4000. Für mich mein erster Super-Brevet und die längste Distanz bisher. Ich starte ganz simple mit der Einstellung, zu fahren, bis es nicht mehr geht. Oder das Rad auseinander fällt 😉 was soll die übertriebene Planerei, wo doch über eine derart lange Distanz viel unvorhersehbares passieren kann – und auch passieren wird. Also sehe ich mir vorher den Kurs an, alle 16 Etappen, lasse aber genug Spielraum für das Abenteuer.
