Right on time for the Olympic year 2026, the Italian ultra-cycling event is attracting riders with a completely renewed route, even more elevation gain, and the opportunity to qualify for PBP 2027. I have already cycled around the island of Cebu twice – both times on a gravel bike. On one attempt with a road bike, I had to stop the ride after about 400 kilometres due to technical problems. This experience made it abundantly clear to me that a gravel bike is much better and more comfortable for such a challenge.

Ja, man kommt schon weit herum bei einer ALPI 4000. Für mich mein erster Super-Brevet und die längste Distanz bisher. Ich starte ganz simple mit der Einstellung, zu fahren, bis es nicht mehr geht. Oder das Rad auseinander fällt 😉 was soll die übertriebene Planerei, wo doch über eine derart lange Distanz viel unvorhersehbares passieren kann – und auch passieren wird. Also sehe ich mir vorher den Kurs an, alle 16 Etappen, lasse aber genug Spielraum für das Abenteuer.
