Ich bin gerade in Taiwan – noch immer 🙂 Um mich herum schlägt das industrielle Herz der Fahrradwelt; es ist der Ort, an dem die Carbonfasern dieser Welt zu unseren Träumen verwebt werden. Die Zahlen der Preise, die dort neben den Modellen stehen, sind atemberaubend bis furchteinflössend. Fünfstellige Summen sind im High-End-Segment mittlerweile keine Ausnahme mehr, sie sind die neue Norm. Bei 20.000 steigt mein Geist aus. Ab hier hat man mich im Artikel verloren. Auch weil ich nicht bereit bin, solch einen Preis für ein „Fahrrad“ zu bezahlen.
Und ich frage mich immer häufiger – wie weit kann diese Spirale noch gehen? Warum sind wir bereit, den Gegenwert eines Mittelklassewagens für ein Fahrrad auszugeben? Geht es uns um die unerbittliche Logik des Engineerings, um die Sehnsucht nach Tradition und Geschichte? Oder ist es am Ende doch nur das stille Streben nach Status?

Für alle Radsportbegeisterten, die Herausforderungen auf langen Distanzen suchen, bietet das Programm zahlreiche Möglichkeiten (Frauen-Brevet, Abendstart, Gravel-Brevet, 600 km Brevet mit mehr als 8000 hm). Mit Distanzen von 200 bis über 1.200 Kilometern, verteilt über ganz Deutschland, ist garantiert für jeden etwas dabei.
