About me
My name is Bernd, and I am a passionate long-distance cyclist, media designer, and marketing specialist. Cycling has been a part of my life since childhood. Born and raised in the Fichtelgebirge region of Bavaria, I discovered my love for cycling in the low mountain ranges and the Alps. Over the years, cycling has taken me far beyond the mountains – both geographically and mentally. Whether on a mountain bike, road bike, or gravel bike, each discipline has its own appeal and continues to shape my passion for cycling to this day.
Today, my focus is on the adventure of long-distance cycling. Highlights of my cycling journey include participating in Paris-Brest-Paris, the Alpi 4000, and the Rando Imperator, a long-distance ride from Munich to Ferrara. In addition to these iconic events, I have completed countless brevets across Europe and, more recently, in Asia. For me, it’s not just about the physical challenge but also about the experiences and stories that every ride brings. Through events like Bikepacking Franconia, I have also created platforms that combine a sense of adventure with community spirit.
I advocate for cyclist safety and respect through the “We are Cyclists” campaign. Collaborating and exchanging ideas with partners in the industry is a central part of my work.
For me, cycling represents freedom and inspiration. It’s the opportunity to discover the world from a new perspective on two wheels. Every ride, whether a short trip or a multi-day tour, is a chance to experience adventure and collect stories. With Audax-Franconia.de, I aim to share these experiences and inspire others to embrace the joy of long-distance cycling – for anyone ready to take on the adventure.
